Supply Chain Project Manager

The Supply Chain and Inventory Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing projects related to supply chain optimization, inventory management, and process improvement. This role involves analyzing supply chain data, developing strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and implementing initiatives to streamline inventory management. The Supply Chain and Inventory Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring optimal inventory levels, reducing lead times, and improving overall supply chain performance. As a member of the Finance Team, this role supports and ties all business supply chain efforts together ensuring data and processes role neatly into accounting and financial processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be the company expert on SAP Business ByDesign. Support users with issues as they arise in SAP.
  • Assist in troubleshooting system errors and developing solutions or integrations into SAP as needed.
  • Lead and manage supply chain and inventory projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery of project objectives.
  • Analyze supply chain data, including demand forecasting, inventory levels, lead times, and supplier performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize supply chain operations and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and demand planning, to align project goals and deliverables.
  • Conduct process mapping and analysis to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for streamlining.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate project activities, including stakeholder engagement, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance supply chain performance and inventory management.
  • Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project risks and challenges.
  • Communicate project updates, status reports, and key findings to stakeholders at all levels of company.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to leverage technology and systems to improve supply chain data analytics.
  • Implement inventory control measures, cycle counting, safety stock management, and order optimization.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to improve supplier performance, lead times, and quality.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance requirements, quality standards, and ethical practices in supply operations.
  • Foster a culture of team work, continuous improvement, promoting innovation and efficiency in supply chain and inventory management practices.
  • Train and mentor team members on project management methodologies, supply chain concepts, and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain and inventory management.
  • Adhere to project management frameworks, tools, and methods to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Support other supply chain initiatives and activities as needed.
  • Looks to improve accounting process efficiencies, applies automation when and where applicable, and identifies cost-cutting opportunities through passive analysis of ongoing accounting duties.
  • Question supply and supply chain costs and purchasing decisions to effect improvements over time and lower costs on an iterative basis.
  • Integrate above duties and responsibilities into SAP and train team to properly engage with SAP.
  • Administer SAP supply chain activities ensuring they flow properly to support accounting processes.
  • Modify SAP’s org-structure with occasional system enhancements to fit growing business needs.
  • Committed to providing support of all departments and functions of the business as needed.


EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, management information systems, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in supply chain management, inventory management, or related role.


WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Expertise in SAP; Optimize SAP to fit soon-to-launch Factory operations.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, best practices, and inventory management techniques.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing supply chain and inventory projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Experience in process improvement.
  • Ability to coordinate with systems developers and stakeholders. (Ex. EDI and other projects).
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate complex projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and take initiative. Experience leading.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and systems.
